OK, I know, I've been several months delinquent in keeping up my blog. Bad artist! Bad, BAD artist! Looks like I have a lot of catching up to do. But I have some good current news to report...

Hot off my work table is this new pin-up featuring Bettie Page. I'm planning to create one of these beauties for each month of the year. There, I've said it; now I have to do it. She's up for sale right now on eBay!

Also, I've just received my blank sketch cards from Breygent Marketing for their new Red Sonja and Vampirella trading card sets, which are due out early next year. And I've just received an invite to work on the Star Wars Galaxy 7 set for Topps, due to release around the same time. So, it looks like I've got my work cut out for the next couple of months.

Been ultra super busy. Working and re-working website. I have a tons of updates from my new Galaxy 6 base card and the news of my base card from the Bettie Page set coming out by Versicolor Productions. Plus been invited to partcipate in the new Vampirella sketchcards by Breygent.

Our last droid is none other that Threepio himself, standing in the crosshairs of the infamous Boba Fett, painted by Daniel Bergren.

Originally from Orange County, California, Dan Bergren is a self-taught artist who has found work doing portrait and mural commissions, as well as his own original creations.

As well as being a fan of the Star Wars Saga, Dan is also a member of the Rebel Legion, the world's largest Star Wars rebel costuming group, and the 501st Legion, the world's premiere Star Wars "bad guy" costuming group. These groups are often requested by Lucasfilm and various charity organizations to make appearances at events, from movie premieres and awards shows to fundraisers and children's hospital visits.

Dan's first LFL licensed work was on Topps' Indiana Jones Masterpieces sketch card set, in fall 2008. Next, Dan worked on Topps' Star Wars Galaxy 4 series, and later The Clone Wars Widevision and Galaxy 5 series. He recently completed one hundred sketch cards for the Empire Strikes Back 3D set, as well as other sets for Breygent Marketing Inc. Dan is also one of the artists participating in the 501st TK Helmet Project, proceeds from which will go to Make A Wish."

Now that you've seen all four droids, beware...these droids will have a different rarity! We'll have a platinum droid, gold, silve, and bronze, and each badge will have only a certain number printed. The badges will be given out in a random order at Celebration V, so you never know which droid you're going to get. To find out which Droid will be which rarity...we'll see you at Celebration V in August!

Anaheim Comic-Con aka Wizard World

April 16th-18th @ the Anaheim Convention Center for Anaheim Comic Con I was at the 501st Legion booth creating an original painting that was raffled off. All proceeds for this went to Make a Wish Foundation.

The winner of the painting was Eva Vanacek from the Golden Gate Garrison.

I haven't posted all of my returns yet from my Clone Wars Widevision cards. Here is one of them. She is done all in full color acrylic. This is a realistic version of Padme done in her Battle disguise from the animated Clone Wars series on Cartoon Network.

I don't have any scans yet, but will post once I get all the cards done.
I have been blessed again to be able to participate in the Galaxy series. Drawing Star Wars is my passion. I can't think of a better way to make a living.

I will be doing 89 Hobby cards, and 17 Retail. I have 6 cards for returns.

Galaxy 5 from Topps will be hitting the selves next month.

Strictly Ink's Hammer Horror & Ray Harryhausen

Strictly Ink gave me an opportunity to contribute to the Hammer Horror & Ray Harryhausen sets.
I did 10 cards for both the Harryhausen set and Hammer Horror, keeping one return from each set.
Since Topps Clone Wars Widevision set I have been working with Copic markers. This is a faster medium for me, as I am able to get more cards done with color. However, as fall as my returns go those will always be fully hand painted cards.

Sci-Fire G2 Prototype Logo

My first time designing a prototype logo in Photoshop. It was for the new G2 Sci-Fire animated clone trooper armor.

A fellow 501st Legion brother, who is working on the animated armor, came up with the concept, and I thought it was a clever idea. So I sketched it out in pencil, scanned it, and finished it in Photoshop.

I had a lot of fun working on this project.
It gave me some experience working in the digital medium --something I haven't had much opportunity to do.
